Dear Jerome,
I have been following the Brazilian dual currency movement, in which the
Banco do Brazil is launching 150 dual currency banks, at the rythm of 10
per month. They are a based on the prototype of the Banco Palmas, which
after 10 years has proven effective at creating 1,200 jobs and a number
of local businesses in a favela near Fortaleza.
I believe this development is significant, as I explain in the attached
interview for the Folha do Sao Paulo.
We would do well to apply the same process in Europe during this crisis...
Cordially,
Bernard
