     Dear all,

In terms of legal questions in South America I recommend you to
read this article written by a legal counsellor for the Central Bank of
Brazil.

     http://www.uea.ac.uk/env/ijccr/abstracts/vol13freire.html

It's also worth telling you that other Latin American countries
follow this trend, especially thanks to the technical assistance by STRO.

     STRO Uruguay: http://www.stro.org.uy/
     STRO Central America: http://www.stro-ca.org/

And it's also worth mentioning that Venezuela also has some
politicies which favour complementary currencies, although we should be
careful on referring to this country, especially when you talk with
Colombians. STRO has a colleague who currently lives in Bogota too, and
you can ask him for further comments...

     Best regards,

     Miguel from Fukuoka, Japan
